I thought this was funny so I am going to share it. Wordans.com is offering blogs gift certificates to try out their service and write a review. In return the blog is expected to write a post between 200-450 words. So how big of a gift certificate can you get for doing a review? Well it depends on your page rank. I get it, go after higher value targets and reward them with better gifts/bribes. Here is the table they presented:
10 / 9 / 8 = $100
7 / 6 = $75
5 / 4 = $50
3 / 2 / 1 / 0 = $30
The lazy writer isn’t even able to evaluate the blog they want to review their company so they provide a table! And the table suggests they will find a blog with a page rank 8, 9, or 10 who is going to write a review of their company for a $100 gift certificate that costs them $50?. Come on Wordans, take the time to evaluate the blog you are asking to do a review of your company. Saying you will give someone $50 coupon to do a review is fine but take the time to offer them that. To make matters worse the request was written like “we would like to offer you a coupon, you can apply to every purchase you do on Wordans.com.” That would be nice wouldn’t it, a coupon that could be used on “every” purchase but it was confirmed by Wordans that it was not an accurate statement.
